Facebook decides to stop its game streaming service and remove its app.
After years of trying to compete with Twitch and YouTube Gaming, Meta has announced its surrender in the game streaming business with the Facebook Gaming services that allowed streaming and playing some games on the platform to be discontinued.
While Facebook Gaming has been very successful in the Arab region, which has not witnessed a real expansion of Twitch, it has been suffering severely in most other markets, and with the suspension of several game streaming platforms such as Microsoft Mixer, it has become clear that the market does not accommodate many companies together.
Game streaming apps from Facebook will stop at the end of October, while some features will continue but in the main Facebook app instead of in a standalone app.
